CREA Budget:  The FY2017 budget and proposed FY2108 budget were discussed, following up on an earlier discussion at the September 20, 2017 BOG meeting.  Discussion ensued about priorities, issues related to a balanced budget, and whether the budget to be presented to members on October 11 should also include a column showing projected 2018 income and expenditures.   There was a consensus that the budget used at the annual meeting should follow precedent and not show a projected budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

Governor Heisler made a motion to pass the budget, and keep the vote open until Thursday, September 28 at 9 a.m., a quorum not being present.  Motion was seconded by Governor Bradley; the motion received five votes.[1]

CREA Constitution:   President Thaul spoke about her interest in ensuring that all three steward candidates on the 2017 CRA ballot in the Resources, Science and Industry Division (RSI) would be welcomed after the election, even though the Constitution states that only two stewards may be elected.   The proposed revisions to the Constitution would allow the CREA president to determine how many stewards each division and office should have.

Governor Bradley made a motion that RSI should have three stewards, pending approval of that arrangement by CREA VP Mike Martin and the BOG.  Governor Hardy-Vincent seconded the motion, which received four votes of approval and no negative vote or abstentions. As with the vote on the budget, it was agreed that the vote would be kept open until Thursday, September 28 at 9 a.m.[2]
