CREA Board of Governors Meeting Minutes

Minutes: Minutes from the September 27, 2017 board meeting will be circulated and approved prior to the next board meeting.
Bargaining Issues: President Thaul discussed ongoing issues within CRS.
Filling Open Governor Seat: Brian Reeder volunteered to act as governor representing COU, a seat that is currently open. Due to the absence of a quorum, Governor Jones moved that the board elect Mr. Reeder as governor and continue the vote via email for governors who were not able to attend the meeting. Governor Hardy Vincent seconded the motion. There was no discussion. A vote was held for governors who were present and will continue via email.
Library Diversity Plan: President Thaul discussed the Library’s draft diversity plan, which was drafted in 2016. The Office of Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Programs (EEODP) has asked for comments and feedback on the plan.
CRS Diversity Groups: CRS has created two working groups regarding diversity: Recruitment and Retention, and Inclusivity and Culture.
CREA Committees and Training: There was discussion about opportunities to get involved in CREA via the membership committee and the white paper committee. President Thaul also mentioned that EEODP’s conflict resolution training is open to officers, governors, and stewards. It will take place October 31st and November 1st.
