Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS) Training: President Thaul reported on the two-day FMCS training that she attended. The first day, sponsored by the National Academy of Arbitrators, was focused specifically on the federal sector, which President Thaul found very valuable. The board discussed ways in which it might get more CREA members interested in attending trainings like this.
Library LCR on Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO): President Thaul and Vice President Salaam-Blyther discussed the status of bargaining over the EEO LCR. The Library did not agree to mediation, and the other unions have agreed to sign off on the LCR, which contains a memorandum of understanding to bargain over a diversity and inclusion plan. President Thaul and Vice President Salaam-Blyther are not inclined to sign off on the LCR. The board expressed support for this decision.
