Metro Repairs: President Thaul updated the board on the responses she received from members of the bargaining unit after sending out an email on the status of episodic off-site work and Metro repairs.
Consultative Management: Governor Brown and Vice President Martin reported to the board on the status of their initiative on consultative management.
Sharing Announcements with Members of the Bargaining Unit: The board discussed situations in which CREA is asked to pass along general announcements about activities at the Library, at CRS, or in the union community generally. The consensus of the board was that President Thaul use her discretion in deciding types of messages to send to the bargaining unit.
CREA Request for Reports from CRS: President Thaul and Vice President Salaam-Blyther updated the board on the status of CREA’s request that the Library/CRS provide reports as required by the collective bargaining agreement. Following CREA’s filing a step 2 grievance, the Library’s Human Resources office is working with CREA.
Negotiations over the Equal Employment Opportunity Plan for Diversity and Inclusion: CREA and the other Library unions are about to begin negotiations, per our collective bargaining agreements, with the Library over its draft, which includes as a pilot an advisory group on diversity and inclusion.
Public Release of CRS Reports: Vice President Martin asked if others on the board knew about policies around reclassifying CRS reports in advance of their public release.
