1. GAO Invite for Negotiation Training. GAO has invited CREA to participate in a training run by Joe Swerdzewski, on Friday-Saturday, March 13 and 14. GAO is covering the cost and has reserved eight slots for CREA. Two remain available.
2. Bargaining Survey. Should CREA survey the membership about opening the contract? Discussion ensued. A two-part approach was considered: a statement to the membership about the CBA and CREA’s role in negotiating on behalf of staff, followed or accompanied by a list of questions about topics of potential staff interest. Discussion of this approach may continue before drafts are finalized by the Communications Team. After subsequent discussion of staff outreach and CREA’s role in the Service, the Board agreed to the development of a monthly series of staff meetings, tentatively to be titled CREA Wednesdays. Each get-together would focus on a specific subject such as the CBA, telework, or credit hours.
