Recap of the Convention: Thank you for sending us.
Anniversary Celebration: Will be held at Hawk n Dove, Wednesday September 16th, 4:30-7:30.
Election: Will be held Sept. 30th. All positions are up for election. Please recruit to fill vacant positions. Remember there is a new nomination petition for stewards. Idea to hold new member breakfasts.
Proposed Constitutional Amendment: Relates to IFPTE Convention delegates and building a system with alternative delegates. Acting VP Brass has been working on this. Will discuss next week.
Meetings between Divisions and the Director: The Director’s first meeting was with inquiry and the Program Office. Discussed: social media, use of the website, ways to get more feedback from Congress on how CRS is doing, how to help new Members set up the offices.
IRS Union Proposal: There is an article in the Federal Diary about a proposal to prevent IRS employees from being allowed to participate in their union. Could this affect the Library and CREA? Could it affect recruitment? What is the IFPTE’s position on the issue?
