The union representing our cafeteria workers (UNITEHERE Local 25) has told CREA that they signed a collective bargaining agreement with IL Creations on August 20, 2008. Many gains for the workers were made during negotiations, including the following.
1. An increase in sick days from 2 to 13.
2. Full payment of health insurance for single coverage and the same payment for family coverage as in the prior contract.
3. The contract is retroactive to December 29, 2007, when IL Creations took over the food services in the Library.
CREA congratulates both sides for reaching agreement.
