CREA has learned that the Library is ready to recertify employees’ Smart Benefits amounts as a result of the recent Metro fare increase.
This recertification is for all employees who:
- -Are in the Smart Benefits program,
-Ride the subway and/or bus and have had a fare increase, and
-Are receiving less than the maximum of $105 in transit benefits.
Note: if you ride the MARC or VRE you are not affected.
The recertification form is attached. Be sure to calculate using the increased fare and attach a copy of the supporting documentation (same as you did for the recerfification). The completed form should be brought or sent to Cynthia Jackson-Durrah in LM-209.
The Library is still working with the Department of Transportation on how to raise the maximum benefit to $110. We will keep you informed as we learn more.
